Parvana’s Journey by Deborah Ellis

Parvana’s father has died and now she must continue searching for the rest of her family on her own. She doesn’t have any idea where to find them or which way to go and the bombing is getting more and more frequent. Along the way, she adds a baby, a boy missing a leg, and a little girl to her little lost group.

Parvana’s Journey is the second in the Breadwinner series by Deborah Ellis. Once again, the harsh realities of war and living under the Taliban are disturbing and sometimes painful. The saddest part of it all is that while Parvana and the others are not real, their story has been repeated over and over by the people of Afghanistan.
